The Superstars

DBSK
Think American celebs have it bad with the paparazzi? Meet Korean idol legends Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK/TVXQ), who were awarded the title "most photographed celebrities in the world" in 2008 Guiness Book World of Records. They also hold the record for the world's biggest official fan club, with 800,000 members in South Korea alone.
Jaejoong, Junsu, Micky, Changmin, and Yunho have taken the world by storm with their good looks and undeniable talent. Sure, they can bust out difficult dance moves to their pop songs just like any idol group can, but hand each of them a mic and prepare to be floored with their acapella prowess.
Though they are currently undergoing legal issues right now, their fans stand strong and keep the faith.

The Bubblegum Princesses

WONDER GIRLS
You'd have to be a complete hermit if you haven't heard "Nobody." Older K-Pop fans would know, however, that the Wonder Girls Virus started way before that.
In 2008, no one could resist their charming choreography for '80s retro single, "Tell Me." The craze spread like wildfire, with fans uploading videos of themselves dancing to the song, even a group of policemen!
With wildly successful follow-ups, the Wonder Girls took the global markets by storm, eventually making the leap into the U.S. music scene (and touring with the Jonas Brothers) in 2009.

KARA
Their name alludes to the Greek word meaning "sweet melody," which is a perfect fit for their bright and youthful style and fun and catchy dance tracks.
Kara is composed of standout beauty Goddess Gyuri (leader), wide-eyed Hara, former child actress Seungyeon, California girl Nicole, and innocent Jiyoung. Their breakout song "Mister" popularized the now famous "butt dance" choreography.
Kara recently tried their hand at a more mature, darker image with their track, "Lupin."

T-ARA
T-ara seemed like your run-of-the-mill girl group from the 2009 boom, but when the girls whipped out their cat-ear headbands, furry paws, and tails, everyone sat up and took notice (never mind that they were channeling cats and not sheep for "Bo Peep Bo Peep"). Boy idol groups went gaga with their imitations of T-ara's animal dance.
Eunjung, Hyomin, Jiyeon, Boram, Soyeon, Qri, and Hwayoung continually proved their chops with hard-hitting choreography and impressive dancing skills.

GIRLS' GENERATION
The reigning K-Pop princesses are these nine girls with legs that go on forever. Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Tiffany, Sunny, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Yoona and Jessica, collectively known as Girls' Generation (SNSD), are one of the most successful products of idol factory SM Entertainment.
These ladies have mastered the cute and innocent charm, mixed with a sly dash of sexiness. In “Tell Me Your Wish,” they frolic around in a candy pink music video set, bearing innocent, girl-next-door smiles, while donning short shorts and killer heels and singing “I’m genie for you boy.” No wonder their fan base ranges from little girls to mature, middle-aged man.
Aside from being able to churn, out hits, each of SNSD’s members hold her own in commercials, dramas, song collaborations, variety shows, and hosting gigs.

The Hip-Hop Crew

BIGBANG
Roll out the red carpet, hip-hop VIPs coming through.
BIGBANG has skyrocketed to success because of their unique hip-hop and electronic sound. Managing to combine crowd pleasing pop with impressive musical creativity, BIGBANG’s members have successfully ventured out into their own solo projects, showcasing their individual styles. No boyband clones here: they have eccentric leader and Korean fashion icon, G-Dragon, Korean R&B prince Taeyang, fiercely charismatic rapper T.O.P, smooth singer (and funny man) Daesung, and slick dancer Seungri.
BIGBANG is bound to push more limits-their future is looking so bright, even TOP’s studded shades can’t handle it.

2NE1
2NE1 blasts their way into the scene with a tough and powerful image. These fierce ladies stand out with their distinct hip-hop tracks and outlandish fashion.
First hailed the female BIGBANG, 2NE1 wasted no time in stepping out their brother group’s shadow. Composed of CL, Bom, Minzy, and Dara, any performance they put on is a spectacle.
According to YG Entertainment, 2NE1 has already finished recording 10 English songs for a 2011 American album, with Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas as producer.

ONE WAY
If you need a break from ‘idol music’ and just want fresh beats and an honest-to-goodness enjoyable sound, then One Way is right up your alley.
Composed of Chance, Peter, and Youngsky, this rising R&B and hip-hop group is carving a niche for themselves in the commercialized world of K-Pop. They composed and arrange their own music, and can sing songs in both Korean and fluent English.
Peter and Youngsky grew up together in Sydnet, Australia, while Chance is California-bed. This is one of the major reasons why the guys have developed an unmatched and very sincere rapport with their fans-all three are rabid tweeters, and they actually take the time out to respond to their followers. Now that’s what One Love is all about.

The Feisty Femmes

f(x)
The letter “f” means “flower” and “x” stands for the female’s double X chromosome. How’s that for girl group smarts?
f(x) is a melting pot of nationalities: their Korean members include powerful singer Luna, innocent Sulli, and chic girl-next-door Krystal (born in San Francisco). Their leader, Victoria, is Chinese and is known in the industry for her mind-blowing flexibility. This girl can bend backwards and literally fold herself in half! Amber, their Chinese-American member from LA, is also popular for her boyish looks and personality.

MISS A
Dubbed as the “Chinese Wonder Girls,” these girls has proven that they’ve got their own style. Only two of them are Chinese: Jia and Fei, while Min and Suzy are both Korean.
Their performances showcase confident energy, sexy charisma, and flexible bodies.
Miss A has less bubblegum and more spice, and have so far proven to have the makings of powerful dance divas.

The Dances Machines

SHINEE
SHINee’s Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Taemin, and Minho take typical pop songs, mix them up with urban beats, electronica, and soul, turning them into modern dance tracks.
It’s especially fascinating to watch their lead dancer and youngest member, Taemin, is touted one of the best dancers in K-Pop world today.

MBLAQ
Extreme expectations surrounded the debut of MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality), because they’re produced by none other than Korean superstar, Rain. Seungho, Joon, G.O, Thunder and Mir, however, quickly hit the ground running with their first single, “Oh Yeah.”
A trait passed by their mentor, Rain, these boys are relentless in their genuine desire to improve as artists. Nowadays, they have become more known as chic idols MBLAQ’s, and not just as Rain’s disciples and are starting to make their own mark as the new variety show princes.

INFINITE
Their name signifies that they are “a bright, energetic seven-member boy group with infinite possibility.” And with creative masterminds Epik High involved in their production of their debut album, “First Invasio,” the possibilities indeed look endless for Sungkyu, Woohyun, Hoya, L, Dongwoo, Sungyeol, and Sungjong.
Masters at synchronized dancing, they all amazingly flow and move as one-a good sign that this rookie group will only grow stronger and is here to stay.

The Musicians

FT Island
F.T.Island (Five Treasure island) is a breath of fresh air with each member expertly playing a musical instrument. There’s pretty boy Jonghun on guitar and keyboard, Rain-doppelganger Minhwan on drums, cutie Jaejin on bass, mischievous Seunghyun on guitar, and Hongki on vocals.
They have already visited the Philippines for a showcase last March 2010, and even filmed the MV “Letter Music” in Cebu, where they got stranded at the height of typhoon Ondoy.

CNBlue
If you’re fan of the Jason Mraz sound, you cannot miss out any of CNBlue’s singles. Brother band of FT Island, they are composed of Yonghwa, Jonghyun, Minhyuk, and Jungshin.
The group first toughed it out on the streets and night clubs of Japan as an indie rock band. Their Korean debut was largely fueled by Jung Yonghwa’s popularity as Shinwoo on the drama You’re Beautiful.

2AM
As if the name is not a dead giveaway, this ballad quartet is the brother group of 2PM. Composed of Jokwon, Seulong, Changmin, and Jinwoon, they also have makings of a beastly group in terms of looks and physique-but these four gentlemen would rather use their powerful yet soothing vocals to melt your heart.
Aside from their music promotions, they have quicklyrisen to popularity through their involvement in variety shows, dramas, hosting stints, and song collaborations. Their leader, Jokwon, is quite the spectacle to watch, as he is particularly known to be one of the best and funniest entertainers in the scene today.

The Flower Boys

SUPER JUNIOR
Much has been said about the size of this boy band-a whopping 13 members. Why?
Fans would agree that watching a single Super Junior music video cannot do justice to their awesomeness. What these boys bring to the table is a full-course meal, an all-in-one package, and a long-running TV show. The Super Junior boys are actors, comedians, DJs, hosts, endorsers, and overall entertainers all rolled in one.
Get a taste to their bromance and hilarious antics in their shows like Super Junior Full House and Exploration of the Human Body.

U-KISS
It’s safe to say that the Philippines hold a very special place hearts of U-Kiss. The seven handsome members, Eli, Soohyun, AJ, Hoon, Kevin, Kiseop, and Dongho held their first even major concert last May 2010, not in Korea, but here in Manila!
U-Kiss stands for Ubiquitous Korean International Super Star-with members from all over the world, truly live up to their name. Eli and Kevin grew up in the US.
Aside from generating surefire pop hits such as “Man Man Hani,” the group members are TV regulars too. Catch Eli and Kevin on Arirang  TV’s ALL ABOUT YOU.

The Bad-Ass Beasts

2PM
Watching 2PM perform is a feast for the eyes: six tall, gorgeous men with well-toned bodies, wowing the crowd with acrobatics, hot dance moves, and intense facial expressions.
Junsu, Junho, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, and Chansung have all become synonymous to the word “beast,” pertaining to their overwhelming masculine stage presence.
Despite the controversy that led to the departure of their leader (Jay Park), these hot guys still continue to gain popularity with their upbeat tracks and catchy lyrics.

B2ST
Here are six young men who can make guyliner look sexy. Each of B2ST’s members has his own charm: Doojon’s toughness, Hyunseung’s dance moves, Yoseob’s cuteness and perfect vocals, Dongwoon’s pretty boy appeal, Gikwang’s to-die for chocolate abs, and Junhyung’s swagger. Their rocktronic sound, charisma, and dance moves easily transition into equally heart-melting R&B songs.
B2ST sizzled in Manila last June with mall shows and a benefit concert in Araneta Coliseum.

The Sexy Divas

AFTER SCHOOL
Top-billed as Korea’s Pussycat Dolls, these gorgeous goddesses of After School were the first who dared to bring unabashed sexiness to the girl group scene. There are currently seven members on their roster: Kahi, Jung-ah, Jooyeon, Uee, Raina, Lizzy, and Nana. They have a graduation system, where they can “graduate” a member and “admit” a new one after a period of time.
They are known for their enviable bodies and their powerful dancing skills. Aside from this, their leader, Kahi, also famous among fans as BoA’s former back-up dancer, and ex-girlfriend of DBSK’s Mickey. Another member, Uee, played the jealous actress in the hit drama, You’re Beautiful.

BROWN EYED GIRLS
The Brown Eyed Girls underwent one of the most drastic transformations in the Korean music industry: from cutesy and sweet ladies to sultry and captivating seductresses.
In no time, everybody was doing their “saucy hip dance,” a sexy dance move from one of their videos.
It might come as a surprise to many that three of its members (Jea, Miryo, and Narsha) were born in 1981-but all three can still pull off their dance moves as sexily as their Youngest member, Ga-in.

4MINUTE
“Within four minutes can hypnotize you. We’ll surprise you when we show you what we’ve got,” they claim on a Japan Times interview.
These confident young girls of 4Minute first debuted with a ‘candy funky’ style, showing off a more youthful pop concert. But Jihyun, Gayoon, Hyun A, Sohyun, and Jiyoon have since then shed their funky image and transformed into a sexier and edgier group in 2010.
4Minute’s Hyun A once garnered a lot of interest for being a former Wonder Girl, but the feisty rapper and dancer proved to be more than just that: she releases a very successful solo single called “Change.”
